FAQ

How long does the hair need to be?

Hair needs to be about 1/4” long, or about the length of a grain of rice. If you have been shaving, that means about 2-3 weeks worth of growth. The longer the hair is the better your results will be.

How should I prepare?

Gently exfoliate the area 2-3 days before. Dehydrated skin can make you extra sensitive, so drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine before your appointment. A pain reliever can be taken 30-60 minutes before to help minimize discomfort. If you need something a little extra, a numbing cream can be purchased and applied as directed before you arrive.

What type of wax do you use?

I use high-quality, professional hard and soft wax. Everyone’s needs can be a little different, and each wax is good for specific things. For bikini waxes and areas with coarser hair, I mostly use hard wax. Larger areas and places with finer hairs will typically get soft wax. This will vary from person to person and skin/hair type.

How long will it take?

It depends on your service, but most services take about 15 minutes. Yes, even your Brazilian.

Is there an age limit?

There is no right age to begin waxing. That said, parental consent is needed for those under 18. Please arrive together for the first visit. This is a great time to ask questions or voice any concerns you might have.

Is there anyone who should not wax?

If you currently are using retinols or certain acne medications, they must be stopped 7-10 days before your wax. Please inform me so I can do a test strip to make sure your skin is ready to be waxed. If you are on Accutane or have used it in the past, you need to have stopped using it for a full year before you return to waxing.

Please wait 7 days after a facial or Botox. Waxing should also not be performed on sunburnt skin.

Varicose veins and rosacea should not be waxed over as it can make both conditions worse.

If you have diabetes, are taking blood thinners, or are being treated for cancer, please consult your doctor before waxing.

What types of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Amex. I also accept contactless payment from Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
